DIGITIZE, INC. incorporated in July 1977, following the successful bid to install a citywide monitoring system for the City of Philadelphia. Digitize was awarded the contract due to a technology breakthrough to decode Philadelphia's fire alarm street boxes via Digital Communication. This same technology was installed shortly thereafter in Baltimore, Providence, Newark, Chicago, Boston, and Sacramento.

As the company continued to grow throughout 1978 and 1979, Digitize developed and expanded its distributor-marketing network. At the end of 1979, the company broadened its market by enhancing the EDS-P, giving Digitize the ability to receive direct wire and telephone leased line alarms. The new model, the DPM 2000, used 80% of the same components as the EDS-P and was geared toward proprietary fire and security monitoring as well as police connected systems. The DPM 2000 was classified under four categories: Local Alarm Units, Proprietary Alarm Units, Control Units System, and Police Station Alarm Units.

Mr. Abraham Brecher is founder and President of Digitize, Inc. As a successful entrepreneur, Mr. Brecher positioned the company for both short and long term growth. The company was recognized by INC. Magazine in 1982 as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the United States. In 1983, the company acquired the Eagle Signal Radio line from Gulf and Western and in January 1985, the company acquired the Douglas Randall Radio Box line from Walter Kidde Company. In 1986, Digitize International was formed to promote and sell Digitize, Inc. products and services internationally.

In July, 1989, Digitize, Inc. announced the System 3000, a new 'State of the Art' Fire, Security, and Life Safety Monitoring System. "With market acceptance and delivery of System 3000, Digitize, Inc. addresses a wide array of Fire, Security and Life Safety alarm and point monitoring needs," says Mr. Brecher, Company President. "With the emergence of the System 3000 and other configured Digitize technology, our company now provides Monitoring Systems which address a multitude of market areas, such as Citywide Fire and Police, Airport/Transit, Security, Hospitals, Colleges and Universities, Industrial/Corporate, Correctional Facilities, Hotels, Retirement Communities, and Military and Government Installations." New in 1998 is the SYSTEM 3500. Maintaining all of the features of and fully compatible with the SYSTEM 3000, the new SYSTEM 3500 utilizes an enlarged (300%) display screen.

"Our goal at Digitize, Inc. has remained consistent," says Mr. Brecher. "We have always addressed market needs through our distribution relationships and market demands. System 3500 is no exception, and we are excited with our current positioning of the product technology," states Mr. Brecher. "Our retrofit capability along with an attractive price allow fire and security executives an investment and solution alternative. System 3500 allows appropriate installed equipment to remain and provides 'State of the Art' solutions going forward." Digitize, Inc. has over 3,500 installations worldwide. Some of the larger installations include Princeton University, IBM, City of Boston, General Electric, Chrysler, Dupont, Union Carbide, Boise Cascade, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey's Trans-Hudson (PATH) railroad, O'Hare International Airport, Amtrak, SUNY Colleges, Harvard University, MIT and various Government and Intelligence Agencies.
